About us
Hello! Thanks for stopping by! My name is Shannon Bell and along with my husband Terry, my daughter Isabella, Terry’s daughters Madison and Kaiden and my parents Jim and Inga (yes we all live here together) we raise myotonic goats and miniature silky fainting goats.

In July 2019, Terry and I, along with our daughters, moved to Mitchell Manitoba to a small acreage. I was thrilled to finally have a spot to keep our 2 horses at home where we didn’t have to drive to see and take care of them. Growing up in Winnipeg where houses are built 10 feet apart, having all this space was almost surreal. Although, Terry grew up in the country and is familiar with the up keep of an acreage, he was happy to be back on a farm. It didn’t take long for me to ask him, “so what kinds of animals can I get?”
We acquired our first 4 myotonic does in 2019 from my brother and sister-in-law who were “getting out of goats” and have never looked back. They were so much fun, I was instantly hooked. That fall we got our first buck and started to build a house for my parents on our acreage.
In spring of 2020, my parents moved into their new house on the farm just in time to enjoy our first goat babies. It was an exciting time!
Fast forward to today and we are the proud owners of 80 fainting goats (give or take a few) and couldn’t be more thrilled to be contributing to the future of this unique breed.
We are no experts by any stretch, but over the past 3 years I have learned so much through fellow breeders, lots of research, reliable and knowledgeable vets, and the ladies over at the MGR and recently the MSFGA who have been nothing but helpful and supportive.
Terry and I are very excited to be going to Goat Camp this year (2022) in Briggs, Texas at Onion Creek Ranch. When I heard there was a camp, to learn about myotonic goats, in Texas, at the end of October……I was like, “sign us up”. We hope to bring back a pile of knowledge that will help us navigate this new adventure.
A special thanks to Anja Moore who has been nothing but a god send through this transition.
Shannon
